A video shows what James McClean did to Mansfield fans after he refused to stand alongside his Wrexham teammates as they observed a minute’s silence ahead of Remembrance Sunday.
McClean has refused to take part in the memorial commemorations since moving to England in 2011.
And ahead of Wrexham’s league match against Mansfield at the Racecourse Ground, both teams stood for a minute’s silence around the center circle before kick-off.
However, McClean kept his distance from his Wrexham teammates when some of the Wrexham fans were heard singing an anti-monarchy chant.
As for the match, Wrexham beat Mansfield 1-0 as Ryan Barnett scored the only goal of the match.
After the result, McClean walked past the visiting supporters and was seen gesturing to the away fans as he left the pitch.
In a video on social media, the Northern Irishman can be seen blowing kisses and waving to the Mansfield fans.
He has previously said he refuses to observe tradition because of the British military’s role in The Troubles.
The 35-year-old has received both condemnation and praise for his stance over the years.
Wrexham, meanwhile, have 28 points on the board after Saturday’s win.
The Welsh club is in third place and is aiming for a third consecutive promotion.
Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson said after the match: “We’ve had games like that where we just have to make sure we roll up our sleeves and realize we’re not at our best when it comes to our football,” Parkinson told Full Time to reporters.
“[On those occasions, we have to] just stay strong and all [has to] do their job out of possession. Overall, we did that.”
He added: “I thought we left it in the first half [Mansfield’s] The two in front dictate us a bit. But we did better in the second half and the back three gave us a platform to win the game.
“So yeah, we’re happy we won.”
